เรียกว่าในงาน Nintendo Direct ที่ปู่นินขนเกมไปเปิดตัวมากมายหลายสิบเกม แต่สิ่งที่ชาวเน็ต ฮือฮาคือในตัวอย่างเกม Super Mario Odyssey กลับภาพเปลือยอกครั้งแรกของ ลุงหนวด Mario ในชุดว่ายน้ำเป็นครั้งแรกในเกม โดยชาวเน็ต มีการ Post ความเห็นที่ออกแนวเฮฮา และยังมีการ ตัดต่อภาพล้อเลียน ทั้งการที่ให้ Mario ไปอยู่ในหนัง Bay Watch หรือขึ้นหน้าปกหนังสือ กีฬา ESPN หรือบางคอมเม้นต์แซวเล่นว่าต่อไปนี้ Mario จะ Post รูปลง IG ไม่ได้เพราะเห็นหัวนม แต่ก็มีคนเถียงว่าครั้งแรกที่ลุงหนวดเปลือยอกคือในเกม Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga บน Gameboy Advance
นอกจากนี้ในเกม Super Mario Odyssey คุณยังสามารถเปลี่ยนชุดของ Mario ได้หลากหลาย ในตัวอย่างล่าสุดนอกจากชุดว่ายน้ำยังมี ชุดคุณหมอจาก Dr.Mario , Mario Paint , Super Mario Bros ภาคแรกที่ยังใส่กางเกงสีแดง ส่วนชุดว่ายน้ำมีต้นแบบมาจากภาพใน web อย่างเป็นทางการของ Nintendo โดยเกม Super Mario Odyssey วางขาย 27 ตุลาคม นี้บน Nintendo Switch
