Mozilla ได้ปล่อย Firefox 28 ออกมาเป็นทางการแล้ว สำหรับ Windows , Mac , Linux และ Android 
ซึ่ง Firefox ตัวใหม่นี้มีอะไรใหม่ๆดังนี้ (ทั้งบน Desktop และ Android version)
- สามารถใช้ตัวถอดรหัสวิดีโอ VP9 ได้แล้ว (VP9 video decoding implemented)
- บน OS X มี Notification Center ให้ website แจ้งเตือนผู้ใช้ผ่านทางนี้แล้ว (Mac OS X: Notification Center support for web notifications)
- สามารถปรับระดับเสียงเมื่อเล่นวิดีโอแบบ HTML 5 (Horizontal HTML5 audio / video volume control)
- รองรับตัวถอดรหัสเสียง Opus ใน WebM (Support for Opus in WebM)
- บน Android รองรับ Native text selection / cut / copy (More native text selection, cut, and copy)
